Hello everyone, occasionally when playing games, surfing the web, or even just chatting on Discord, my computer tends to freeze for a brief moment—around 1 to 10 seconds. After that, everything seems to come back to normal, and I can resume without any issues. This happens frequently whenever someone joins or leaves my Discord channel, though it might just be a coincidence since it doesn’t seem to happen often.

I’ve used the Event Viewer to investigate the problem and found a Kernel Event Tracing error code 28 each time it occurs. It appears this issue is linked to USB disconnections and reconnections. Even when I plug in my ASTRO A50 and Hyper X Quadcast S, these errors still appear. I’m not sure if they actually cause the freezing, but it seems to happen only once a day. I’ve used my PC for hours every day, so I’m really frustrated.

Here are my system details:
- GPU: Asus Strix 3080
- CPU: i9 13900k
- Motherboard: Asus z790-e
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 64GB 6400MHz
- Power Supply: Corsair Shift Series 1000W
- NVMe SSDs: Corsair MP 600 and Corsair MP 600 PRO XT
- Operating System: Windows 10 Pro

I’ve upgraded my PSU from 850W to 1000W, but that didn’t help. My RAM upgrade from 32GB 6000MHz to 64GB 6400MHz also failed. Upgrading the motherboard from ASUS Z690e to Z790E didn’t resolve it either. I’ve performed a full Windows reinstall (formatting and re-installing via USB), but nothing changed.

I’ve also replaced the A50 and Quadcast with new models, yet the problem persists. I’ve adjusted Power Management settings, turned off USB Selective Suspend, checked Device Manager, and disabled power-saving options for all devices. Updated the BIOS to the latest version, but it didn’t fix anything.

Hey there,
What bios are you running on the system? It's very possible this is a bug and a bios/driver update might help here.

Did you verify the CMOS after the bios update?

I don't think it's a MOBO problem, especially since I've already had two of them. I'm not sure if clearing the CMOS will help, but I can try if you really want me to.
