I'm experiencing problems where my computer freezes unexpectedly while modeling or rendering, even with the HDD not showing any activity. This happens without any apparent reason, possibly because my system specs aren't high enough. It's been running Blender on a Dell Precision 3640 tower workstation with an i7 10th 10700, 16 GB RAM, and a 300W PSU.

Budget option, not very good.
Probable reason is insufficient RAM capacity.
Blender needs considerable RAM because all project files are stored in memory. 32 GB would work, but 64 GB would be ideal.
When performance drops and the system freezes, it shows the RAM is nearly full. The PC must halt whatever Blender is processing and clear old data while writing new information back into RAM. This process takes time and can cause a complete shutdown.
In reality, the power supply is 200W.

No matter what efficiency rating you have, both units use dual 12V rails and can supply up to 16.5A per rail, which equals around 198W. A slight adjustment means your PSU might only output a maximum of 200W.
