Hi everyone, I thought about sending this to Troubleshooting, but most of the problems seem hardware-related. From what I understand, everything looks fine with the hardware, so I’m hoping this is the best place to find assistance. I’m working on fixing a Windows installation for a friend’s computer, which isn’t very tech-savvy. They’re more of a casual user who just uses the device without much knowledge about its inner workings. There’s this strange problem where the password field in the lock screen disappears, making it impossible to log in, even though all other parts of Windows function normally. I’ve spent several days searching online and trying possible fixes (see below), but as a final resort, I considered reaching out to the Windows support team. It felt like a waste of time. I’ve already tried many things and shared them with the support representative. Ideally, I’d like a solution that preserves all user files, settings, and applications without requiring a full reinstall. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions you can offer.
You can connect another computer and transfer data from the HDD or SSD. Besides reinstalling Windows, this is the only option available. IMO
