computer was operating smoothly then I chose to increase my cpu speed and now the bios interface is completely missing. EZ debug led for cpu appears briefly for two seconds before vanishing. Here are the steps i attempted.
- reset the cpu by using a jumper and removing the battery, but didn’t succeed
- tried installing the graphics card in a different slot
- disconnected all hard drives
- reconnected cables one by one
- used only a single stick of ram
- speaker isn’t producing any sound during troubleshooting
THE MOST SURPRISING PART IS THAT AT ONE POINT THE COMPUTER STARTED AND DISPLAYED BIOS, indicating my overclock was restored to the default setting. However, by that time the hard drives were unplugged and the gpu was connected in another slot. I thought i fixed it, so i powered off the pc and reconnected the gpu and hard drives again, but now it doesn’t function properly. I tried the same steps once more, yet it still isn’t working.

What duration is required for the CMOS battery to be disconnected? It's recommended to leave it off for 10 minutes to confirm the process.

Please share your complete system specifications. How long have you been removing the CMOS battery? You should allow about 10 minutes to confirm it was disconnected properly. I left it out for 2 minutes, then tried 10 minutes. Wouldn't this cause another problem because the reset is intended to restore default BIOS settings, and when it boots those defaults were displayed?

When removing CMOS, the AC power from the wall outlet must be cut off from the power source.

Please share your complete system specifications. How long have you been disconnecting the CMOS battery? It would help to confirm if it was a recent action. cmos battery wasn't the problem.
