I've modified my setup many years ago using parts from older systems. I found it in storage units and some purchases when I could. My current specs are: Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit CPU, Intel Core i7 4770, 3.40GHz, Haswell 22nm, 16GB DDR3 RAM at 799MHz. The motherboard is MSI H97M-G43 (MS-7924), with a C27F591 graphics card (1920x1080, 60Hz). I use a 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 and a 232GB Samsung SSD. The storage is an SSD with audio support via Realtek. The issue is that my RAM is stuck in channel 2 and 4, and the lights dim when I try to use channels 1 and 3. I'm on a fixed income, so building a new system isn't possible. The 1150 motherboards I see online are out of my budget. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you, George.

The single-channel setup for a 4770 is still acceptable, though it was less important in the past. Nowadays, it does matter more for modern games and performance, but it's still okay. I mainly need to know the PSU model since that's essential for recommendations. Could you check and let me know the PSU? I assume you're planning to use it for gaming. It's straightforward—just get a new GPU. But I need more details before I can help effectively. Your questions will guide my advice.

Thanks for the ideas, but with current GPU prices it's tough to upgrade even to the recommended PSU. I'm not sure which brand to choose.

I need to know the exact psu. I cannot recommend anything else. So can you please give me the model number? What is your budget? There are some oddities for gpu's but I kinda need to know a budget and what the goal of this system is too.

I had to remove the PSU to check the brand and model EVGA 100-W1-0600 Budget—possibly around $100.00 US if I'm lucky. Updated August 23, 2021 by George Caso missed details.

It seems the PSU isn't powerful enough for a large GPU. You'd be better off with something like an R9 270(x) or GTX 760. Neither is great, but these are the options available unless you tell me your specific needs.
