The Nvidia RTX microphone detection feature isn't working with headphones or microphones.
Recently I added Nvidia's new software Rtx voice to my PC running a 2060 super. Everything worked smoothly until some discord issues forced me to reinstall the audio drivers. Once that happened, the software stopped recognizing any microphone or headset and refused to launch. I tried a fresh installation but it didn’t fix the issue. The problem isn’t with the overall machine, since Discord and other applications still managed to locate it. I’ll include a screenshot of the error message. Please note I’m unable to locate the specific path mentioned in the error text.
If you encounter the same problem, make sure the speakers are turned back on before the app starts up completely. You'll need to act fast or have the sound settings window open with playback and recording tabs active already. I find it frustrating how Windows 10 makes that part two or three clicks away now, compared to just one click before.
