I acquired a friend who owns a Switch and wants to buy two wireless SNES controllers since they claim compatibility with Windows PCs. The model on the back is HAC-042.

I charged them first. I managed to pair the controllers with my PC using Bluetooth, but they still didn’t work. In the Windows Game Controller settings, the controllers appear as "Wireless Controller." When checking properties, it displays live inputs from the devices, yet no buttons or D-Pad activity are present.

The bottom LEDs have one green LED on. On one controller, it’s the first LED, and on the other, it’s the second.

I tested running games like Super Meat Boy and Bit Trip Runner, but neither recognized the controllers. Steam offers a controller interface that functions, though it doesn’t seem to work in the games. I tried using an Nvidia shield, and they worked perfectly.

This situation seems to point toward a driver problem, but I haven’t found any solutions yet.

Anyone have advice on what to do next? Thanks!!

A tool for Windows to play any game (old or new) using any gamepad (old or new) - schellingb/GamepadPhoenix
This application allows you to utilize any controller, appearing as xinput or directinput, and be recognized as the Xbox 360 controller. This ensures compatibility with established button mappings. You also have the option to modify the mapping.

I saved and set up Gamepad Pheonix. The controller keys weren't recognized as any input method. I also attempted to recheck detection within the app after unpairing, but it still couldn't find it.
The driver visible in the device manager when connected via bluetooth is "Bluetooth Device" from Microsoft (2006). It appears in the bluetooth devices list as SNES Controller, yet in the gamepad configuration panel it lists as Wireless Controller.
Any further advice?
Thanks!!

I discovered a different git repository for BetterJoy that helped them get it running again!
