Hello, I’m just starting out with PC building and had a great experience assembling my own system. But now I’m facing an issue. My computer starts up normally, but when I launch a game—like Elden Ring or League of Legends—it randomly restarts. Sometimes it only lets me play for about 30 minutes, other times I can play as long as I want. At one point I restarted several times.

System specs:
- AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @ 3.4 GHz, 16-core processor
- Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX 75 CFM liquid cooler
- MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI ATX AM4 motherboard
- 2x Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB DDR4-3600 CL18 RAM
- Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVMe SSD
- Asus TUF GAMING GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB video card
- Corsair 7000D AIRFLOW ATX full tower case
- Corsair RM1000x (2021), 1000 W, 80+ Gold certified, fully modular ATX power supply
- 3x Corsair LL120 43.25 CFM 120 mm fans

Temperatures:
- Idle: around 35–40°C
- Gaming: 55–65°C

I’ve read online that these temps are fine, but I’m not sure. I tried adjusting XMP settings, but I’m unsure how to change them without turning it off. Another thought is the PSU might not be delivering enough power. But I don’t think that’s the main issue. I’m a bit confused and would appreciate any advice.

It seems the issue might be with the GPU or PSU, so verify every cable is securely connected, particularly the GPU. Disable XMP settings in the BIOS if available. Check if any components are overclocked. Share your GPU temperatures during gameplay. Use 3DMark (free demo on Steam) to assess GPU performance and run Cinebench for CPU evaluation.

You're enjoying multiplayer games with anti-cheat systems, but they're acting strangely once you leave the game.

I've inspected every cable and confirmed all connections are secure. There are no factory-installed overclocked components, and I'm uncertain if any were adjusted. Only XMP was activated in the BIOS. I'll attempt to turn it off. My GPU temperatures are: idle 40–50°C, under load 50–60°C. I plan to run 3DMark and Cinebench for testing.

Could the issue stem from your monitor? I'm using an Acer KG251Q.

If the computer shuts down unexpectedly, it doesn't necessarily mean the monitor is the issue.

Let me check how it proceeds. While you work, consider running memtest to verify your memory health. You might also explore the BIOS settings to identify any potentially problematic configurations.

It has been several days now, and I've been checking out different games. I ran 3DMark and Cinebench, and also turned off XMP settings. It seemed to make a difference—my PC only crashed once after disabling XMP. The game I played was League of Legends. I observed that my CPU temperature reached 70°C while loading a YouTube video. That happened only once. When I tried more games at the same time, the CPU stayed below 60°C.
