Yesterday, my new build was functioning well (with normal temperatures) until in-game it suddenly shut down and wouldn’t restart.
I upgraded from a 5800X to a 9800X3D with new MB and DDR5 RAM (64GB). Here are the details:
Cooler: Corsair iCue Elite H100i
MB: MSI B650M MAG Mortar
RAM: 2 x 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5
GPU: Palit 4070
PSU: Corsair RM850
Drives: 2 x 2TB NVME, 1 x 500GB SSD
My initial concern was the PSU, but an 850W unit should handle this setup—though I’m open to being wrong.
I’ve tried re-seating the RAM and testing with a single stick, but no response. The only hint was yellow/red lights on the motherboard before it powered off.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

I recently upgraded my system from a 5800X to a 9800X3D, installing new MB and DDR5 RAM (64GB). Here are the details.
Did you reinstall the operating system after the upgrade?
Power supply: Corsair RM850
How long has the PSU been in use?
I noticed yellow/red lights on the motherboard.
Link to the download: https://download-2.msi.com/archive/mnu_e...ARWIFI.pdf
Page 43 indicates yellow and red lights correspond to DRAM and CPU. Were you sure your cooler's mounting aligns with the CPU's IHS?

Thanks for the reply. The PSU is from 2021, which means it's about 4 years old. Cooler was installed properly, and the cooler mount should work with AM5. Let me know if you're unsure.

It came back on briefly when I removed a stick of RAM and requested to change settings. I told it to keep going normally, but then it turned off again. Now it doesn’t turn on at all.
