I own a Dell G16 7630 from early 2024, and after installing new RAM, it wouldn’t boot properly. Even after checking and resetting the RAM, the keyboard still lights up but the screen stays blank. I’ve tried different approaches without success.

Did you remove the battery during the RAM swap? If not, it could damage the system and lead to a short circuit. I recommend disconnecting the battery, holding the power button for 60 seconds, and allowing it to rest before reinserting the old RAM. Only then should you reconnect the battery.

You're experiencing a delay as DDR5 systems require a few minutes to fully initialize after adjusting the RAM settings.

I didn't disconnect the battery even though the manual doesn't mention it, and I haven't swapped RAM before without doing so—it worked fine. I'm curious about the timing and why it matters. How many hours have you used it? Are 3 or 4 hours enough? Also, what's the reason behind this step? Thanks for your prompt reply.

Really? I only stayed if I wait just a couple of minutes or so before trying again, thank you!

It turns out I wasn’t waiting long enough—just a couple more minutes. Thanks for the assistance, and now I can return my second laptop to its place.
