I've been trying tjo install my profile of thunderbird to a new laptop. For some reason i cannot be successful as i had been in the past. when I open TB, if asks me for my first email user name and etc and it created it. When i view it, I do not see 20 years of my emails at all. Its like the past month only. Finally, I got a message that my old profile would not work well with the latest version. So now, where does that leave me and my important emails of the past I don't know the old version of that profile, so maybe I can download that particular version and i would be able to see all of my past emails. I came across a sight with a long list of TB versions, but no way on how to get one or even pick one. I suspect possibly the 90's versions. The more TB updates, the lousier it gets with no regard of its users like me.

I've tried other methods before, but recently I've relied on the free Hekasoft backup and restore feature for at least four builds. I still have my emails and saved folders from 2009. I'm backing up from an old machine and updating the new one with those files.

I notice they provide a free version of Hekasoft for 15 and 30 days.

I did something comparable. Perhaps consider an interim version (or several). I was at a3x version. Updating to 6x was necessary, and then I could proceed to the latest.

I looked at the list you mentioned, but there wasn't an available choice for downloading any of those versions.

I think there might be a way to reach earlier versions on the thunderbird site.
