My ISP modem lacks a dedicated WAN port, so when configured for bridge mode it automatically assigns the first LAN port on it—this matches the router you’re using. It seems the router’s settings might be influencing the whitelisting process. Previously, I couldn’t stream Hulu via VPN in the EU, but since I’m on a US military base and Hulu adds the ISP to its whitelist there, the issue likely stems from a different configuration change.

I've never adjusted a modem for bridge mode myself. My ISP provides DHCP and uses the 10.0.0.0/8 range. My router is configured as a DHCP server in the 192.168.1.0/24 network, so my modem only interacts with the ASUS router or one connected device, which functions perfectly without bridging.

It seems the setup might require a third-party router for proper bridging. The ISP modem handles routing, so switching to a different modem could prevent conflicts. The modem IPs are 192.168.0.X and the Asus router is 192.168.50.X.

It seems there could be a firewall problem. The ASUS router's firewall might be stricter than that of an ISP, potentially blocking content and causing Hulu to misinterpret your connection as using a proxy.

I attempted to turn off the firewall but it didn't work.

Checking traceroute to the Hulu IP on both the functional modem and Asus device might reveal differences in routing behavior.

It's possible your service provider previously allocated IP addresses through a VPN provider. Hulu would have flagged those addresses. Updating the information may take some time. Based on how IPs are distributed by the provider, there are opportunities to obtain fresh ones. In my situation, the assignment comes via DHCP, and I can alter my IP by modifying the router's MAC address connected to my modem. Not everyone has this option.

I checked the traceroute results and the paths appear identical between the two locations. This might indicate that your ISP was previously unblocked but now has changed its blocking status. I've tested other networks, including using a Firestick and switching to cellular data on my phone, but the issue persists.

Your router is already configured with your ISP's DNS settings. I've tested Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Google (8.8.8.8) without success, so no alternative is working. You decided to pause Hulu temporarily since finding a solution soon seems unlikely.
