Hello, I recently changed my CPU from a Ryzen 7 3700X to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D. The upgrade worked without issues, but when I connected the machine to test, it didn’t power on or display anything. It seemed like the system had no electricity. After removing the CPU, it booted up just fine, though not optimally. Even after reinstalling the 3700X, it still wouldn’t start. Updating the BIOS didn’t help. It appears the power button wasn’t functional and the PSU was operational. This problem persisted even when I checked other components. Could it have been a hardware fault? CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Motherboard: MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4. RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16. Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME. Drive: Western Digital Blue 2 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM (salvaged). Graphics: NVIDIA Founders Edition GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB. Case: NZXT H510i ATX Mid Tower. Power Supply: Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W, 80+ Gold certified. OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home, USB 32/64-bit. Keyboard: Logitech G915 X LIGHTSPEED RGB, wired/wireless/bluetooth. Mouse: Logitech G502 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Optical.

Check the motherboard BIOS for an upgrade. Upgrade to the newest stable release. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-B550...US/support You can install it even without a functional CPU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5aFhNh_u4U

Ended up swapping in a new Mobo and that resolved the issue, thankfully. Attempted to update the BIOS and it worked multiple times, but nothing changed. My best guess is I might have misaligned the CPU socket somehow.
