I recently assembled my PC without the CPU, which is expected to arrive soon. My configuration includes: a Ryzen 5 3600 processor, an EVGA Rtx 2060 GPU (single fan), a B450M DS3H motherboard, 16GB of 2x8 GB RAM, a Crucial 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD, a PSU, and Corsair CX750F RGB case. Everything is connected properly except the CPU, and all wires are in place. There’s no response—no fan turning on. I’m unsure if the PSU or motherboard is the issue, especially since it’s brand new. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Attempting to fix the system is futile without a CPU. Add the CPU and then confirm if problems persist.

I understand you were concerned about installing the CPU and will return if needed.

It should at minimum activate parts such as fans or spinning disks without the CPU running, then display a beep code or error message, or simply do nothing at all—this is quite unusual. Frannx mentioned in the original that no POST is expected, but at least some indication of life should be present, which seems reasonable.

I've never encountered a motherboard functioning without a CPU. That's the primary check it makes before activating fans or any other components. If there are fans, they should be connected via Molex connectors.
