I purchased a brand new PC for my upcoming build, but it doesn’t power on. Here’s the component list: MOBO: ASUS PRO A620M-DASH-CSM CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X GPU: ASRock SteelSeries Radeon RX 9070XT RAM: ADATA XPG 32 GB KIT(2x16GB) DDR5 6000 MT/s CL 36 Lancer Blade Black SSD: WD Black SN7100 1 TB PSU: Fortron V ITA BD 850W Cooler: Fortron Air CPU Cooler NP5-B Case: Cooler Master Elite 301 Mini Tower.

I used an older AM4 machine for testing parts. Here’s what I tried:

- Reseated cables several times
- Placed RAM sticks in one configuration
- Reset CMOS by holding the jumper 10 seconds, then removing it and holding for 3 seconds
- Disconnected all connectors except DP and power
- Kept the PC running while going out for a few errands to let the RAM settle (repeated three times)
- Tested without an SSD
- Switched GPU to another machine (it works)
- Tested SSD on another machine (also works)
- Checked PSU from the other computer (image attached)

In every case, the same result occurred: power button pressed → fans spin up → GPU lights up but screen remains blank. The display should show a QLED logo, yet it stays off.

My current thought is this might be a motherboard issue, because without an SSD the power LED shouldn’t blink quickly as described in the manual.

Please share any ideas or tests you could run, or suggest possible fixes. I’m ready to try anything and appreciate your help. Thanks!

This board requires a BIOS upgrade to work with the 9000 series. Updating the BIOS alone isn't possible, and using an older CPU model makes it even harder. It's likely a widespread problem. The A620 model is also quite outdated, so you'll see many similar issues.

It would work, I'll process the return and order a replacement. Appreciate your quick response.

The ASUS PRO A620M-DASH-CSM isn't an excellent motherboard. Look for a budget-friendly B850 instead, as it offers native Ryzen 9000 compatibility.
