The new laptop is overheating more than expected.
Laptop: Asus Rog Strix G16 13650HX/4050/32gb ram Everything seemed ok but cinebench r23 results should have been around 21k but I only get 15k because no matter how fast I run the fans, the CPU reaches 95c. single core score is fine because it doesn't heat up that much. I don't know what the problem is but this laptop has a strong cooling and the guys reviewing it show that clearly. Due to temp, clock speeds can't reach 4000mhz and, therefore, can't get at least 20k points. This is a brand new laptop, do you think thermalpaste is applied wrong? 3D mark temps were more normal but r23 is acting weird This one have higher specs but doesn't heat up as mine Note: I did move fan speeds to 100% in manual mode but nothing changed. besides Idk why turbo mode doesn't make much noise. Is there something wrong with Armoury Crate? WhatsApp Video 2024-08-04 at 18.12.17_8a02df31.mp4
It's conceivable that sensor data is inaccurate, leading to reduced clock speeds. The 95°C reference might be misleading.
By watching the video link I shared, you’ll notice he faced no such issues. He didn’t even reach 85 c alongside, since I’m not coming close to the expected clock speeds I should be aiming for.
The room temperature is 23°C and the fans seem to be running at a low speed around 3000rpm in turbo mode, which is very quiet (28dB). I have to forcefully set the fan to full speed but the temperatures keep rising to 95°C. There must be an issue with the cooling system. Even more unusual, the exhaust air from the laptop isn’t that hot—around 40°C. The situation looks strange and needs attention. Also note the CPU package and the core max jumps from 50c to 95c in just one second. Pressing start in cinebench causes temperatures to spike dramatically.
It seems the processor uses just 75W, which is quite efficient. It probably means the cooling system isn't working properly. Need to return the product.
