I changed my R5 1600x to a TR 1950x using identical hardware, disk configuration, and Windows already set up. It appears fine, but it still lists the system as 1600x. When accessing my Microsoft account, it thinks it's still the R5. I have the installation drive and key from when it was installed on the 1600x. Should I reinstall fresh, and if yes, will the key work?

It doesn't present any choices since it's already enabled. You're trying to switch back to your old rig, but it keeps showing up as the prior setup.
You simply connect your HDD/SSD and everything functions properly, even with your license key (your Microsoft account is linked). More details will likely be refreshed soon during the automatic activation verification period. The system name, such as the experience index in Windows 7 or similar labels, doesn't affect performance—it's just extra information unrelated to actual computer speed. You now have a new processor; you can test its compatibility with all programs, including through Device Manager. By the way, "System name" refers to your computer's name, which is completely irrelevant here.
