I understand what happened with your Dell gaming laptop. The new monitor worked fine at first, showing good colors and smooth 120Hz performance over HDMI. But when you tried to play the R6 game, things started to fall apart. The FPS counter said 120fps, but the game was actually running at around 20fps with noticeable stutter, lag, and screen tearing. After restarting the laptop, it took about five minutes to launch again, which was strange since you had an SSD. Then it started at 120fps plus 120Hz, but still struggled with input lag and overall performance issues. It’s not free sync or VSync, so I’m not sure what’s causing it. If anyone has any tips or solutions, please let me know.

I managed to fix it by pressing the Windows key plus P together, then selecting "only external monitor." Now I’m experiencing another problem, so I’ll close this and start a new thread.

It seems like my monitor's FPS counter only shows the refresh rate, not the actual frames per second. That makes it hard to know exactly how fast I was going.
