The new DOOM?
The new DOOM?
It seems well-received by others, though you should check recent reviews for more insight. As for its longevity, it depends on updates and community engagement, but many players keep it active for months.
The multiplayer features appear to be the game's main weakness. It seems unlikely to last much longer, particularly with the planned multiplayer map DLC. It probably won’t remain engaging for long. However, within a year it could attract around 300 players online. This depends on Bethesda’s approach. It’s possible they might prevent this from happening. For the near term, I don’t believe the game offers sufficient multiplayer depth to retain most players. At least on PC, there are some strong competitors as well. So I think most people won’t stay with Doom’s multiplayer scene. Single-player mode seems more appealing and challenging. Right now I don’t have a functional PC, but once it works I’ll stick with it alone.
After trying the beta, I found it wasn't worth the effort. Sure, I didn't explore every mode, but after about two to three hours you start enjoying it. SP seems really good, though I don't think MP will stick around long-term.
It's about the solo experience; if you're not into that, skip it. That solo aspect is why people choose to purchase it.
I tried the alpha and beta versions of Doom, but it wasn’t particularly impressive in multiplayer. It was enjoyable, though it felt quite repetitive and I lost interest after roughly an hour.
