Hey there, so I built my new PC last week. Switched from an i7 9700k to a 7600X and replaced the STRIX GTX 1080 with an XFX RX 7900 XT Black Edition to meet the basics. After a long troubleshooting session, it finally started working. I’ve noticed the RX 7900 XT makes a pretty loud noise when it’s under stress. I tried using the GTX 1080 in this setup, ran DDU, and updated the drivers. The GTX 1080 also makes quite a loud sound. I’m already feeling a bit overwhelmed with all this work. Got any suggestions?

Sure, I've moved to a more open case, switching from the H500i to a H510 Flow. Both are running quietly thanks to the fans. However, the slight difference in dB levels makes me wonder if it's just a case issue. I changed my previous setup by placing the PSU with the fan facing upward, following a suggestion from a tech expert. Could this be limiting airflow to the GPU?

What are the temperatures on the cards? Are you certain it's the GPU fans increasing, or is it the case fans in the new enclosure? It's possible the new case makes more noise, but it shouldn<|pad|> to be noticeable.

I've tested both units, and the RX 7900 XT reaches its maximum RPM at 51°C. Although it spins slower than the GTX 1080, it produces much more sound. Both GPUs operate at full capacity when opened in the main menu of "WRC Generations". Lol, update: the RX 7900 Xt now stays around 2000 RPM at 59°C.

You can design a tailored fan curve in MSI Afterburner to keep the fans operating within an acceptable temperature range.

MSI Afterburner doesn't allow me to adjust the RPM of the RX, but it's now resolved. It seems I only added graphic drivers, missing the "Adrenaline software" from AMD that I wasn't aware of—something from nVidia. That app created silent profiles, making the RX 7900 XT much quieter. Still a bit louder than the GTX 1080, but it's manageable. Several other problems were also fixed along the way. Overall, this build really helped me out. Thanks for your time and have a great weekend!

I completely overlooked that too. My previous AMD graphics card was the R9 290X. I’ll keep this in mind for anyone facing the same problem. Thanks for resolving it—enjoy your gaming!
