The new CWWK J6413 NAS motherboard fails to boot despite following the troubleshooting steps in the manual.
Hello. I bought a CWWK J6413 from Amazon using this link. It’s connected to a power source via a power switch on another computer. I’ve installed two DDR4-3200 8GB modules from RipJaws and an HDMI cable is plugged into the rear. The motherboard powers on through the donated PSU when I press the power button on my other PC (at least the CPU fan starts). However, no video appears and I can’t access BIOS. I’ve heard it needs a few minutes, but it’s been about ten minutes without any signal. The PSU is from another PC and worked this morning. The power bar and cable function properly (from a working PC). Ensure your BIOS version matches the CPU generation. It comes with a CPU that was factory-installed. Verify all power connections are secure. Auxiliary connectors are provided. ... 24Pin and 4pin CPU are plugged in. Confirm the cable from your monitor is firmly attached to the graphics card and also to the monitor itself. ... Rechecked. Make sure your PSU can handle the full system load. It’s a low-power setup and the PSU is a Seasonic 750W. Try booting with just the monitor and no other devices connected. ... Successful. It works across multiple computers and inputs. If you have a dedicated GPU and an iGPU, test both outputs on the graphics cards and the motherboard. ... No graphics card detected when using iGPU. If the board shows VGA out, try that instead of digital out. ... Tested HDMI and DisplayPort connections. Ensure all plugs are firmly in place, re-seat if needed. ... Completed. Make sure your monitor functions by testing it on another machine. ... Done (operates with several PCs and inputs). If you own a dedicated GPU, try it on the other side too. ... No GPU detected. Verify RAM compatibility with CPU and board. ... Spec sheet says DDR4-3200 SODIMM should fit. Any further advice? Or should I request a replacement? Thanks for reading. It was the RAM! I contacted the helpful team at my nearby memory express store, and they gave me a couple of "value RAM" modules that they claimed worked well with most systems. Apparently, certain premium RAM units come with extra features or capabilities, though I’m not sure what that means. It does boot into the BIOS! Thanks @Levent! (Hopefully, the value RAM would include a black PCB like my G.skill Ripjaws did… )
