I recently assembled my new PC but when I press the power button it lights up and spins up then stops. I assumed the issue was with the power supply, but it worked fine on my old machine about four hours ago. Eventually I connected the power switch from the case and tried shorting the pins with a screwdriver. It powers on and stays active. However, when I attempted to reinsert the power switch while the PC was running, it immediately shut off. Earlier I observed a bent pin on the front panel header, marked as "NC" in the manual. I tried straightening it before removing the front power switch. Could this be related to a power switch fault or a motherboard issue? My system specs include: Ryzen 9 7950x, Asus Strix X670E-F, Corsair HX 850 Platinum, Noctua NH-D15, Lian Li Lancool 3, 32GB GDDR5, ASUS TUF RTX 4070 Ti.

If the power switch is shorted, it might seem like it's always pressed. Use a multimeter in beep mode to test the two wires connected to the switch. If it keeps beeping, the switch is likely the issue.

I connect the adapter and press the reset switch, but no action occurs. Please note that all front connectors are grouped under a single label called POWER_SW.
