The new build won't start?
Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I was here. You all made a big difference when I set up my old computer 5-6 years ago, and now I'm back again with a fresh build and some new problems!
Here are the details:
Mobo: MSI Mag x670e Tomahawk WiFi
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d
GPU: MSI RTX 4070 Ti OC
RAM: 2x16gb Corsair Vengeance ddr5 6000mhz (CMH32GX5M2B6000Z30K)
Cooler: Corsair H150i AIO
Storage: Samsung 990 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe 4TB
PSU: Cooler Master XG850 Plus Platinum 850W
Case: Corsair 4000X
Everything is connected and powered on. I plugged the PSU into the surge protector, but nothing happened when I turned it on, and pressing the "on" button at the top didn't work either. After checking everything carefully, I re-seated the motherboard pins and double-checked all power cables—CPU, GPU, motherboard, USB, and fans. It seems like I might have made a mistake, but I'm not sure what to do. The cables are clearly labeled, showing which side goes to the PSU and which to each component.
I also noticed there are two CPU power cables and two 8-pin slots on the motherboard. I tried using both, but nothing changed.
I'm really confused—I've never had a situation where there was no sign of life before now. I don't know how to troubleshoot this, but any advice would be super helpful. Thanks a lot, and have a great day!
Which slots are being filled by the RAM modules? You may wish to ease some strain on the CPU's cooling block and test for POST issues. If that doesn't resolve it, verify the CPU socket for any bent or damaged pins. Make sure all connections from the power supply unit to your components are firmly in place.
