hello everyone. I'm based in the midwest with gigabit fiber at home. I'm connected directly to my router. Previously, my connection was 960 Mbps from my R8000, but now it's dropping to 250-400 Mbps. I've tried everything a beginner could do without any router experience, and I'm reaching out for assistance. QoS is disabled, NAT filtering turned off, IGMP proxy inactive. I've reset the device and toggled features, but nothing works. Thanks in advance to the community, Tino.

The reviews on Smallnetbuilder.com mention tests conducted on this router alongside the P version. When multiple features were enabled, the device experienced significant performance drops. Under normal conditions, it achieved around 950 Mbps throughput, but that was only possible when many functions were disabled. With Gigabit connections, users often switch to PFense and build custom routers since standard options fall short. Still, there are affordable alternatives available, though they come at a higher cost. Manufacturers need to improve their offerings because companies like Comcast provide 1.4 Gbps down and AT&T offers symmetrical speeds from 2 to 5 Gbps.
