Hello! The Netgear Nighthawk X4S R7800 at 165 euros seems reasonable, but I’m curious if it’s still a solid offer considering its age. Are there other options in this price range that might be even better?

Your choice depends on your environment. Are you mostly using wired or wireless connections? The size of your home matters too. A big house with heavy wireless use may benefit from a mesh Wi-Fi system. If you intend to play games, consider linking your gaming device (PC, console, etc.) through Ethernet, which could influence where you place the router and shape your overall setup.

Both wired and wireless options are available. My primary PC uses Ethernet, while the home office relies on Wi-Fi, plus an AVR device. The house size isn’t a big issue. I’m curious if there’s a more suitable model at a comparable cost. Thanks.

I believe the R7800 remains a strong choice when priced reasonably.
