Hello! I just assembled a new computer with a Ryzen 7 9800 X3D 2x 32GB, GSKILL 6000 CL 30, and a brand new 2TB T-Fortune Z540 Crucial P1. My old hard drive is a silicon PowerGen3 NVMe 2TB for backups, and I'm running Linux on the previous drive while installing Arch Linux on the T-Fortune. The main problem is that although the NVMe devices show up in BIOS, the boot options aren't visible. I can only fix this by rebuilding GRUB, but the new installation doesn't appear at all. It seems like a BIOS issue, but I haven't tried an update yet. I built everything late at night and didn't check for updates before starting.

The BIOS update could resolve the speed drop or device loss problems mentioned in version 7E59v1A2 notes. Recognizing PCIe devices, such as NVMe drives, was likely a concern during the initial release. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-X870...FI/support

It seems there might be some confusion about the process. BIOS updates aren't cumulative like a single initial install followed by newer versions; each update builds on the previous one. You'll need to apply them sequentially rather than in a single step.

They usually build up over time. You can often jump straight to the newest BIOS. If you must install an older version, check the release notes—none mention needing a prior BIOS. Based on what I found, it looks like you’re all set for the latest update.
