Hi there, welcome to the forum! I’m new and would really appreciate any advice you can give me about my issue with this MSI Z170A gaming motherboard. It has an Intel Core i5 6600K processor that’s overclocked to 4.2 GHz, but the board keeps underclocking it to 0.8 GHz. This is frustrating because gaming performance suffers and web browsing becomes very slow. I’ve tried resetting the CMOS and toggling the slow switch multiple times, but nothing seems to help. Anyone have suggestions?
Have you looked into the temperature it reaches?
Yes, during stress testing it hit 65°C, which is typical for an overclocked processor. That’s the first time it has happened in a year, and it never goes higher before. It also stays around 35°C during stress tests, and after resetting the processor it seems to automatically underclock itself—this is really frustrating.
