Yes, you don't require it during BIOS flashback, though it's fine to have it installed.
Ensure the PSU works well, cables are properly connected, and the power button functions. Reach out to your seller for an RMA if needed. If you lack RMA or warranty (perhaps the board has been in use), perform thorough testing with another power supply and CPU in a different case to verify it is safe. Have a great day!
I've verified the serial number and it looks like a 2023-04 motherboard, which should be covered by the newest BIOS supporting 5000 Ryzen. I plan to take it apart and attempt to power it on without the CPU or GPU. If that fails, I'll switch to the Rog Strix B550. Thanks for all the support!
I've noticed your motherboard displays a string like "ms-7c91 ver 2.3". Unfortunately, I can't locate the precise BIOS from that code. Another discussion mentions "Ok so you have version 7C91vA2" which matches ms-7c91 ver 2.1. Based on what I understand, I should have the BIOS 7C91vA4 from 2020, released in 2021. It seems the package lists "Ryzen 3000" compatibility, but the new version says "Ryzen 5000".
Press the power button repeatedly or attempt to start with a screwdriver.
I'm testing a Strix B550 and everything seems fine so far. <Shameless plug begins> For Canadians, consider purchasing from Memory Express for online purchases. They offer competitive pricing similar to others, provided the product model matches and you get free BIOS updates with any motherboard you buy. Great support! <Shameless plug ends> I see it's a bit tricky marketing. Sure, it works with Ryzen 5000 as long as the BIOS is current and the weather looks rainy soon... Have a good day!
