Since I sent my laptop to MSI and had it repaired after the frame began failing, I received a new charger. Now it randomly blacks at unpredictable times. If thermal throttling occurs, the issue appears too fast for me to detect via CPUID or HWMonitor before it happens, suggesting a spike. Otherwise, I have no clear idea of what else could cause such an instant black screen followed by a restart. Anyone have any insights?
If it's been handled this way since we contacted MSI and never before, please send it back and demand they fix it. It could be a different unit altogether. They often replace drives and install them in another returned device, which means if something is wrong after the warranty period, you must insist on correction. Otherwise, you might have to switch to a new unit, as fixing this issue yourself is unlikely unless you're already skilled at disassembling and reassembling laptops—probably not the case here.
