A recent entrant into PC gaming has acquired their initial dedicated display device. While not a premium model, it’s proving to be quite enjoyable. However, the monitor's refresh rate is being displayed at a considerably lower speed – only 59Hz – despite being advertised as 165Hz. It’s connected via DisplayPort, and I'm seeking assistance in achieving the promised 165Hz rate, or at least something near that value. My graphics card is a Radeon RX580, in case this information is relevant.

It’s probable that the DisplayPort cable is faulty. Try using an HDMI cable, as you should be able to achieve a 144Hz refresh rate. Concerning DisplayPort cables, verify that they are HBR2 or HBR3 rated and VESA compliant. Club3D and Accell are recognized, certified manufacturers.
