Hello! I switched to this new system in August and updated the GPU at the same time as the 3000 series was released. However, the issue has persisted since then. The computer frequently enters this mode. The Debug Code LED displays '00' and 'CPU ERROR' as error messages. None of my peripherals activate when it's in this state. The only solution is to quickly power cycle the PSU. If I don't switch it off and on rapidly enough, it reverts to the '00' error once more. It needs to be done swiftly. Pressing the power button or reset button on the case doesn't resolve the problem. When the PC occasionally restarts, it immediately returns to the '00' error. I updated my BIOS during assembly, but the problem existed before that too. I was very anxious about updating the BIOS knowing it might lock me into this issue. Now I'm hesitant to try any updates for this reason alone. I've attempted changes using default BIOS settings, removed RAM modules, but nothing fixed it. About 1 in 3 times it works normally, and 2 out of 3 times it enters this mode. My current specs are: MSI X570 MEG GODLIKE MSI RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Vengeance RGB PRO AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Corsair M.2 as boot drive, Corsair RM850 PSU, CPU clocked at 1.25V with cores: CCD0, CCD1, CCX0, CCX1, CCX2, CCX3 at 4500/4475/4350/4350 MHz. I used ClockTuner for Ryzen to adjust the CPU by 1USMUS. When I power cycle the PSU and the PC restarts normally afterward, everything functions correctly. No clear indication of a problem. I just attempted to update the BIOS using MSI Dragon Center, thinking it would be the simplest option. When I pressed the install button, the computer shut down and displayed error 22 on the debug screen. In the worst situation, you should still retain a warranty for that board. You can return it for repair and claim it stopped functioning, then obtain a replacement. However, BIOS Flashback may still be capable of resolving the issue. The process is straightforward and often restores a corrupted BIOS by using a dedicated chip on the motherboard designed specifically to flash a new BIOS from a USB drive.
I managed to recover, I guess. I reset the PC, cleared the CMOS and am back now. Phew... But that 00 error keeps bothering me. It appears in every step now that I was following through. I'm worried it might disrupt something the PC is doing during reboot and cause it to freeze on that error. I'm considering rebuilding the PC tomorrow—maybe that will solve the issue. If anything isn't properly installed, it's probably the only part left untouched since the initial build. The CPU has been removed in all previous troubleshooting steps. The GPU was swapped over when the 3000 series was released as mentioned earlier. Could rebuilding bring any improvement?
I don’t believe this will solve anything beyond providing some entertainment while rebuilding the system. It won’t create major problems, just a minor annoyance. I’d probably try a BIOS Flashback to see if it helps, as it’s safe and unlikely to cause damage (unless power is lost, then it might recover on its own).
Check the most recent BIOS version that isn’t a beta release. You can proceed even if your CPU is installed directly in the socket. Ensure the PC is powered on, insert the USB drive into the BIOS port, and press the designated button. Also, consider resetting your current BIOS settings before making changes.
You can achieve this using the newest non-beta BIOS versions. No adjustments to existing BIOS configurations are required. This should cover all necessary steps.
Performed the BIOS update using the flash button, but it didn’t resolve the issue. The "00" CPU error persists during startup. It only worked after power cycling the power supply.
After the BIOS update, the 00 error has not occurred. System boots normally since then.
