The MSI afterburner affected my game performance.
I attempted to boost my PC's performance using MSI Afterburner and reviewed the data. I set it to +87 core voltage, 110 power limit, +150 copre clock, +450 memory clock, and fan speed at 60%. The system reported a temperature of 30°C. I then tried running Overwatch with bots, achieving over 135 fps consistently until after two minutes when the game crashed, stating it couldn't handle an overclocked GPU. After resetting MSI settings and deleting the program, it ran at 40-50 fps, so I restarted the computer but saw no improvement. Other games also slowed down, prompting me to re-download the software and try again to overclock my PC. Despite these efforts, nothing changed, and I'm hesitant to reset or replace my graphics card due to this mistake.
Have you reinstalled your drivers? What do you mean? Which ones are involved and how would I proceed with this?
Update: I updated my graphics card via GeForce and it functions now. Can I overclock it now, or should I just ignore it?
Update 2: Because I was a bit careless, I tried overclocking it now and it worked, so thank you for noticing!
Which GPU are you running? All GPUs handle overclocking differently, so some of those adjustments could have led to instability. In reaction to your follow-up, you shouldn't assume stability just because it functions now—it requires thorough testing to avoid repeating the same problem
