Hey everyone, I’m really struggling here. Usually I can solve things by searching online, but so far nothing’s helped... The issue is that my mouse disconnects and reconnects instantly—sometimes it happens once a day, other times multiple times. It stops working for a second, then comes back. It doesn’t follow a pattern, and it seems to happen more often when I’m playing Transport Fever 2 or just browsing the web. Sometimes it just turns off completely and I have to unplug it to get it back on. The keyboard behaves the same.

I’ve tried everything I can think of without success:
- Got a new mouse, but it still fails.
- Tested all USB ports on the PC—no difference, even the front panel.
- Updated the mouse driver (it was already current).
- Disabled the “power-saving” option in Device Manager.
- Assumed it’s not hardware-related, as it happens with other devices too.

My machine specs are:
Ryzen 5 7600 MSI B650 PRO Wifi 32GB DDR5 Corsair Vengeance 6000Mhz RX 6800 XT 16GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVME SSD BeQuiet StraightPower 700w Win 11 Home 64bit BIOS 1.60 (Updated 05.06.2023)
Built by myself in 2023, planning to upgrade to a 7800X3D soon. Sending it back to the maker isn’t an option.

Anyone have suggestions? My knowledge feels limited right now. Thanks in advance!

Best, Kriz

If you didnt tell all the things you tried, i would be like, this is a broken cable on the mouse. But it happening with different mice, makes me think it might be power related. Make sure all power connectors are fastened well. Even go as far as unplug them and plug them back in. Specifically the motherboard 24pin. If thats not it, it could be that the motherboard is faulty. Best of luck, my lack of knowledge makes me unable to think of other solutions right now.

It looks like you might need to reset Windows and possibly replace the mainboard.
