The mouse (and occasionally a headset) intermittently loses connection and then reconnects.
I’m experiencing this issue following a fresh installation of Windows 10, and it wasn't present before. I’ve already updated all my drivers, tried different USB ports, disabled power-saving settings on peripherals, and even removed my antivirus software – specifically because my friend’s mouse kept disconnecting due to conflicts with that program, and I'm at a loss for what to try next.
My system configuration is as follows:
GPU: 1070ti, overclocked to 1080
CPU: 1700x
RAM: 16GB
PSU: 850W
2 monitors
1 SSD and 2 HDDs
Should a single mouse become disconnected, the issue likely stems from a faulty wire or poor connection. If your USB drive frequently disconnects, the problem probably originates with the USB controller – consider reinstalling relevant system drivers and updating chipset firmware. If a wireless mouse repeatedly loses its connection, it might be due to temporary interference, such as when electronic devices emitting radio waves are in use.
However, hopefully this information provides some assistance.
Should a single mouse become disconnected, the issue likely stems from a faulty wire or poor connection. If your USB flash drive repeatedly disconnects, the cause could be related to the USB controller—consider reinstalling relevant system drivers and updating chipset firmware, or investigate potential hardware issues by replacing the motherboard. A wireless mouse disconnecting might be due to a temporary interference issue, such as microwave operation disrupting nearby Wi-Fi signals.
Hopefully this information is useful.
Despite reinstalling drivers and similar troubleshooting steps, the problem persists. I believe I’ll need to take my motherboard to a computer store under warranty.
