I recently installed a new system after my old motherboard failed. I upgraded to an AM5 board during the process. The main issue is that I can’t boot into the OS installer USB or the original Windows 10 SSD. It works fine in BIOS and recognizes all drives, but when I try to access the SSD or USB installer, it stays stuck at the ASUS logo indefinitely. I left it running overnight and even tested both drives on another machine, which booted into the Windows installer successfully. The drives themselves seem functional. My current setup uses an ASUS X670E-PRO WiFi board, R9 7950X processor, and 32GB T-Force DDR5 RAM. I’ve also tried another motherboard (ASUS B650E) and it behaves the same way. After five months of troubleshooting, I’m considering giving up and replacing the hardware. If anyone knows why this is happening or how to fix it, please let me know.

You were likely upgraded from an MBR setup to a UEFI system. Consider making a fresh USB drive using Rufus and configure it as GPT for UEFI, or utilize the official Windows installation utility to generate one.

I upgraded my R9 3950x using an MSI X570 Godlike. I set up a fresh Windows installation via USB with GPT through Rufus, which is what I've been attempting. I'm experimenting with various Windows and Linux installers to find a working setup. Another point: BIOS settings are all default except for disabling secure boot. Everything in the CPU and RAM is configured to "auto," and the QVL list matches my motherboard's requirements. This is my first time facing this problem on an installation, having built several machines before, so I'm unsure what might be causing it.

It seems the system attempts to boot from the USB installer but gets stuck after a brief loading screen featuring the ASUS logo. The process freezes or reboots intermittently, sometimes briefly showing before shutting down. This behavior is confusing and has occurred across multiple motherboards and RAM types. You've already tested it on two different boards and with various configurations, yet the issue persists. You're facing challenges that don't seem to resolve with standard troubleshooting steps.

I've tried various installation USBs for multiple operating systems. This includes Ubuntu, Zorrin, Windows 10, Windows 11, TrueNAS, and also used the Microsoft media creation tool.
