Hey everyone, I own a Gigabyte B450 DS3H motherboard and am looking for RAM. A colleague advised me to stick only to the RAM listed on my motherboard’s QVL. But many of the options there are outdated, often no longer available, or quite pricey and tough to locate. I’m curious about the impact of following that advice. Specifically, I’m considering 16 GB of 3000MHz RAM from Corsair or similar brands. The QVL options I’m reviewing seem limited, and I want to know if choosing either of these links would cause problems.

In short, it's hard to confirm without firsthand experience with a board and setup. It seems likely it could work, though boot issues are not uncommon.

They confirmed the specific kit and motherboard version in the QVL. Other RAM might fit, though it's not certain. Rare cases of incompatibility can occur.

They usually don't release the tested kits that don't work. When they do, they typically explain how the results fell short.
