The motherboard isn't booting into the BIOS.
CPU model is AMD Phenom II X 4.965. Motherboard is Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0. RAM capacity is 8GB DDR3. Storage includes a 60 GB SSD, with an option for an additional 500 GB HDD if needed. GPU specifications are 1050 TiPS. Power supply is Corsair Power 400W. I purchased several components from a retired mining operation; most have worked well so far. The system refuses to boot into BIOS. I have a screenshot of the boot sequence but don’t know how to resolve it. I attempted the BIOS boot button on the motherboard, but it still loops. I also changed the jumpers, though that didn’t help. I’m new to board configuration and may have made mistakes. Need assistance with this issue.
Your device starts up with a diagnostic check and indicates it's functioning properly. Consider taking out the CMOS battery once the main system is powered down, waiting a few minutes before trying again.
Thanks for the update. I attempted a CMOS reset but didn’t wait long enough, so I’ll move forward after taking out the GPU to access the battery.
CMOS reset finished, but the issue persists with the same output.
Examine the image and notice the red circle at the bottom-right, that’s the BIOS chip/EEPROM. If you can’t reprogram its BIOS, don’t lose hope—you can either obtain a BIOS programmer or purchase another chip. You can find them at biosdepot on eBay. Provide the exact board details, including version/revision, and they’ll send you one with the latest BIOS file already installed.
Be mindful of the notch on the chip, which indicates its orientation. Misalignment will likely result in a faulty board. The white outline around the component shows where the notch should be; align the chip accordingly.
When handling the chip, handle the legs carefully but gently. Pull it out straight and evenly to avoid damage. When reinserting or setting it back, match it up with the notch and place it in the socket as you did when removing it. Good luck!
Sorry to bring this up again, but I need more assistance. I bought a new BIOS chip and took out the previous one from the board. It started booting normally for the first few times, but now it won’t boot into the BIOS as it did before. I’m not sure what’s going on.
