I've been dealing with this problem for a few months now. It started around the middle of that time. I'm using an ASRock B550M Pro SE motherboard and testing it with an MSI Tomahawk GPU. Initially, I suspected a graphics card issue—video would stutter occasionally, while games mostly ran smoothly. Eventually, I upgraded the GPU too, but the same problems persisted. Recently, I visited Best Buy to check things out. One component that caught my attention was the motherboard itself. After much consideration, swapping it out resolved everything. Games no longer stutter, and system responsiveness improved significantly. I'm still trying to figure out what caused this, especially since all the other parts are recent and in good condition.

It's unclear what happened. After updating the latest BIOS version (3.63, AGESA ComboAM4v2 1.2.0.F), it's hard to pinpoint the issue. It might have been resolved by reapplying thermal grease to the CPU. Swapping the memory module would also be necessary.

The system might have been pushed too far with overclocking. This particular board is a budget model and isn’t built for heavy overclocking. Also, some Asrock B550 boards were experiencing voltage problems with Ryzen CPUs. It’s puzzling why the motherboard itself became the problem. After all, everything relies on and draws power from the motherboard. While opinions differ, I always believe a motherboard deserves careful handling.

It's impossible to push the speed beyond what the board supports. That final point is clear. I'll need to return the board for repairs and plan to buy something more capable later.
