MSI Bazooka B450M AM4 Ryzen 7 2700 Be Quiet! Air Cooler 3 Case Fans GTX 970 500W PSU My maximum overclocking power is 3.85GHz @ 1.295V I really think I can get more out of this chip. It only reaches around 70°C during the stress test. Yet in AIDA64 my motherboard temperatures rise steadily until it fails with any of my current settings. Even at the settings I have, the CPU stays near 85°C. I’m not sure what might cause overheating on a motherboard or how to fix it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! - Noah

The board is quite basic, with a modest heatsink on the power supply unit. I don't think it's likely to reach very high speeds.

Typically you should keep the VRM temperature below 100°C, as this is the limit for most parts in a VRM setup. To resolve the issue, purchase a 40mm fan and direct it straight to the VRM heatsink—airflow will resolve all temperature concerns.
