Hello! I recently assisted someone in setting up a new PC with an MSI B450 A Pro Max, a Ryzen 3 3200G, a GTX 1070, 16GB DDR4 RAM at 3000MHz, and a Samsung 860 EVO for storage. Everything functioned properly. I connected a monitor via HDMI to the dedicated GPU port, and everything was working fine. The issue arose when the user wanted to link the PC to a TV as well—since the GPU only had one HDMI port and the others were DP-only.
I tried using the motherboard's built-in HDMI port, but it didn’t work. I searched for solutions and discovered that enabling "IGD multi-monitor" in BIOS didn’t help, as the option wasn’t available. I forced integrated graphics, set the memory limit to 1GB, saved, and restarted, but the problem persisted.
In Device Manager, I saw both Vega 8 and GTX 1070 listed under display adapters, but the Vega version showed an orange triangle and reported error 43. I uninstalled the drivers, restarted the PC, and then reinstalled the latest ones, but it didn’t fix the issue.
I reviewed the manual and online discussions, but no clear solution appeared. I suspect the problem might be related to using a NVIDIA GPU. The motherboard model listed only supports certain configurations—specifically, Ryzen with Radeon Vega or AMD Ryzen with Radeon/ATON Vega. If this is the case, the HDMI port may not support your setup.
If you’re open to alternatives, you could consider a dedicated DP-to-HDMI cable, though some warn against using them as they might damage the GPU.
