I've been working on getting my 7700k to reach 4.8ghz, aiming for around 5. I adjust the core ratio to 48 with a multiplier of 100, enable extreme tweaking, and set the voltage to 1.2V. After restarting, the CPU still shows the target at 4800mhz, but the frequency remains unchanged. The voltage does increase to 1.2v, yet nothing shifts in speed. I've tried turning turbo off and back on, but it doesn't work. Anyone know what might be causing this?
In most situations, 1.2 isn't sufficient to achieve 5.0Ghz. A 4.8Ghz would likely be more reliable.
There are several adjustments you can make to obtain the desired outcome. If all power-saving features remain enabled, you'll only notice the peak turbo frequency when under load. To consistently display it, configure Windows for maximum performance mode.
A solid Skylake overclocking manual should assist you (Kabylake effectively Skylake +300Mhz)
