Hey everyone,
A few days back I manually increased my system's overclocking with guidance from a reliable source tailored to my hardware. Once I finished adjusting the BIOS settings and saved the changes, I restarted the computer. The motherboard rebooted several times before the BIOS loaded, after which it started normally—just like it did during my previous overclock session.

However, this time things went wrong. The system kept restarting for about five minutes and failed to start altogether. To fix this, I kept the power button pressed until the machine shut down, then pressed it once more to initiate a restart, which finally worked.

The overclocking performed exceptionally well, significantly reducing my CPU temperature. After a few days, when I restarted the PC again, it continued to restart repeatedly before even loading the BIOS. So I had to keep the power button active until shutdown and then press it once to get a normal boot.

Anyone has suggestions on how to avoid this issue and ensure a proper restart?
Thanks in advance.

Find a site with overclock details? You mention your exact specs but wonder if the RAM is different? Every time I see a mismatched RAM setup like yours, it triggers alarm bells.

Looking for a site with overclock information? Your exact specs don’t match, but I’m worried about the RAM being different. Every time I see a mismatched setup like yours, it triggers alarm bells. I suggest removing the 2x2gb sticks and testing with just the 4+4 in dual channel. I tried finding the site again but there are countless links saved in my browser history. In BIOS I only changed them to 1866Mhz because it defaults to 1600Mhz. I’ll try your advice once I’m back and let you know what happens. Thanks, matt.

So you adjusted the RAM speed along with your overall overclocking??
If it was working smoothly at 1600mhz then go back.
Pushing four mismatched RAM sticks to 1866 isn't going to be that easy since they likely have very different latency times.
It might take hours to get them all running together at a stable speed if it's even possible.
Very likely the problem is there.

So you adjusted the RAM speed along with your other overclocking? If it was working smoothly at 1600mhz, go ahead but reset it. Pushing four mismatched RAM sticks to 1866 isn't going to be easy, especially since they likely have different latency times. It might take hours to get them synchronized and stable at that speed if possible. It's probably the problem. But the RAM is set to 1866mhz by default, while the motherboard originally had it at 1600mhz. I didn't change their latency or timing settings. Still, why does it boot when the PC is off but not when you restart? This one's confusing.
