It can definitely be a certain segment of a game, even ones unrelated to horror. For me, Resident Evil 2 was quite unsettling, especially concerning William Birkin and his daughter... After acquiring the G virus, he searches for her daughter hoping to conceive her with the G embryo, which he manages to do... The video should begin at the moment I intended.

Bioshock definitely ranks among the top. The entire collection is impressive. And the moment when you transform into a strogg in Quake 4.

I understand your point, but I didn’t respond like they did in RE2 with William. Still, I can see what you mean.

That's actually a good question...I don't honestly know. Most recently, I've played SOMA. That was a really good horror game, one that I really enjoyed as it was more of the psychological kind of horror. This is one of the most thought-provoking game stories I've ever played and has kept me up at night more than any monster ever could.

BioShock Infinite is still on hold for me due to strong aversion toward certain sections of the game.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent offers a profoundly disturbing experience, but the core impact comes from the final segment where you discover detailed accounts of real torture techniques (historically accurate as far as I understand). This revelation left a lasting impression on me.
