Hey there! I'm really struggling with the audio in Call of Duty: Warzone, and I’ve tried everything I can think of. It seems to be a really specific issue with this game.

Here’s what's happening: All my other games, YouTube videos, and music apps work perfectly fine using both my headset and Bluetooth speakers. However, when I launch Warzone, the game loads up without a problem, and audio works great in the menus. But as soon as I start playing multiplayer – usually around 30 seconds in – my audio cuts out completely. I’m left with just a static sound and a huge drop in the game's audio levels. My microphone still works, so I can hear my teammates, but the rest of the game sounds completely glitchy and unplayable.

I’ve gone through a ton of troubleshooting steps:

1. I've tested three different headsets – using Bluetooth, USB, and an AUX cable – and the problem occurs with all of them.
2. I completely reinstalled and updated *all* my drivers.
3. All my computer’s hardware is up-to-date with the latest drivers.
4. I've experimented with all my headset’s spatial audio settings, trying Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos, and even created different sounds to see if I could pinpoint the issue. Windows Sonic seemed like it might fix things at first, but it just ended up cutting out again later in the game.
5. As a last resort, I even completely reset my PC – reinstalling Windows and repartitioning my drives – which felt like it should have solved everything. It didn’t!

It seems to be tied specifically to Nvidia and motherboard drivers, which is frustrating because it’s still happening even though I built my PC just a month ago. It *was* working perfectly before, and I didn’t make any changes to my system at all. My PC is not overclocked, and I've built it myself.

My specs are:

* CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3700x
* Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite WiFi
* RAM: Corsair RGB Vengeance 4x8GB 3200
* Storage: Rocket Q NVMe SSD (1TB) + TForce SSD (1TB)
* GPU: MSI RTX 2060 Super Gaming X
* Power Supply: Gold-rated 750W
* Case: Corsair iCUE 220T RGB Tempered Glass
* Fans: Corsair iCUE LL120 x3

Interestingly, a friend recently built a PC with the exact same motherboard and CPU, and he’s getting Warzone working without any problems. It really points to something specific with my setup, and I’m starting to think it might be a hardware conflict. Please let me know if you have any ideas!

If you’re having trouble with audio playback or recording, it might help to disable the setting that allows apps to take over your device’s sound. You can do this by going to the sound control panel – you can find it in your device’s settings, under playback and recording. Then, right-click on an audio file, choose “open sound settings,” and from the panel on the right side, select your audio device (like your headphones). Finally, click on your device’s “advanced” settings to see if that resolves the issue.

I tried this recently, and it didn’t go as planned. I've actually attempted it a few times before when the game was working, so I don’t think that’s the problem at all. Thanks for your assistance!

Hey, did you manage to fix it? I’m running into the exact same thing – it started happening about a week ago, and now it's popping up in every single game I play. I’ve tried just about everything, and nothing seems to work. Just to give you some background, I’m using an RTX 2070 and a Ryzen 2600x.

Hey, I was wondering if you’d managed to fix this problem? I've got a MH650 headset, and it works perfectly with most Call of Duty games. But as soon as I jump into World at War, it just cuts out completely after about 30 seconds – sometimes even right away.

Hi
I have just built a new computer, and all is good, I am a relatively experienced Desktop PC builder, and loaded all the necessary drivers, etc etc, now when playing warzone, Windows will randomly change my default output audio device, so all of a sudden I have no sound, very frustrated, I've tried disabling the other devices, gone into sound settings, I have probably spent hours trying to find a resolve, but still no joy, today, after it did it, I changed the sound settings, had three games of single ayer BR warzone no issues, went into a fourth game 10 mind in, it had changed my default headset , to High definition audio .
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you 😊
