I was working on my computer when it stopped responding abruptly. I restarted it and now it keeps showing a message about no display port and navigating to BIOS. I’ve switched cables and unplugged the monitor, but the problem persists. All components are still active, so I’m unsure what to do next.

I’ll attempt that; should I also take out its cables from the power supply?

I suspect there might be an issue with your Windows setup or the video driver. The core driver that BIOS recognizes seems functional, yet the one Windows relies on isn’t. It’s also conceivable that part of your dGPU failed, though the installation process appears more likely. Another thought: your system could be older and someone made a mistake during the last automatic Windows update. If this occurred immediately after an update, rolling back the update might resolve the problem.

I recently attempted to start the system without using the graphics card, but it failed as well. I’m planning to install the drivers now—what’s odd is that the computer worked perfectly before this problem appeared.

I took out the graphics card but couldn't clear the BIOS screen.

Did you insert the cable into the motherboard slot? That’s the main question. The whole “sudden failure” part suggests a hardware issue. Cosmic ray particles can damage RAM, which is why ECC exists—but it shouldn’t last after a reboot. SSDs might be safe from this. Could be incorrect. If it’s hardware, your drive could have been destroyed. Do you have your Windows USB key? If yes, you might be able to boot from it. Edited June 17, 2023 by Bombastinator

I attempted to start from the motherboard port, and some users managed to fix the problem by resetting the CMOS, though that solution wasn't very effective.

Consider your current issues and performance needs before deciding. Reinstalling might fix problems, but leaving it could delay solutions.
