You noticed the app consuming excessive CPU, reaching 90% usage just recently. It appears to reset battery counters frequently, and new images aren’t loading. I’ve looked for fixes but the problem seems widespread across MiUI devices. A factory reset with data removal resolves it. It looks like the app is trying to read corrupted files repeatedly, exhausting the CPU and draining the battery. A quick workaround is to force stop the app, clear its cache, and switch the battery saver to limit background activity. There isn’t an automatic diagnostic tool for media corruption on Android, but these steps often help without a full reset.
os switching is functioning well, but I still risk losing data, which I’d rather not do right now. regarding other gallery tools, Google’s version works perfectly so I’ll stick with it for now. the real challenge comes when I try to access the camera app—gallery problems resurface again.
