Hello, my setup started with a 2x4GB Ballisitx sport 2666MHz CL16 unit, paired with a Ryzen 5 1600 and a B350-F gaming motherboard. I was planning to upgrade to the Ryzen 4000 series, but after selling my 1600 for a good price, I upgraded to a Ryzen 5 3600 and purchased two 8GB Vengeance LPX 3000MHz CL15 kits, thinking Zen 2 Ryzen would work better at higher frequencies. Everything is running, yet this memory kit seems limited to 3000MHz or less, otherwise the system won’t boot, and I have to reset CMOS. When using the 2666MHz CL16, I achieved an OC at 3000MHz with CL14 at 1.35V, but on the 8GB CL15 it didn’t respond at all—no boot whatsoever. I experimented with 3200MHz and other settings, but nothing worked. I’m wondering if there’s a fundamental issue or if I made a mistake. I thought Samsung B-Die was the go-to OC kit for Ryzen builds, but I’m still puzzled. Did I end up with a faulty batch? I returned the kit, but I remain curious about why it wouldn’t support higher speeds. I’m keen on PC parts and memory tuning, so any advice from someone experienced would be greatly appreciated. I'm just starting out with RAM overclocking, but I heard using the thaiphoon burner is necessary to verify my chip details. Aida64 only gives basic info like the manufacturer. The thaiphoon mentioned it was a B-die, which confused me because I thought 3200MHz CL14 was a B-die and not 3000MHz CL15. Also surprised that it wouldn't overclock at all.
