The MB slot B1 refuses to recognize XMP (DOCP) profiles.
Hello everyone, I purchased an Asus TUF gaming B550M-plus paired with a 3900X and two HX432C16PB3K2/16 RAM sticks. The memory slots are set to QVL for use in four slots. Initially, after installing all four pairs, I encountered random problems like BSODs. Memtest86 didn’t detect any issues during a 30-minute run. I then tested each RAM stick on each slot individually. Many configurations managed to POST with different DOCP profiles (A2-B2, A1-A2-B2, just A1, just A2, just B2). However, when testing only on slot B1, swapping identical four DIMMs didn’t help. When B1 was populated, I could still POST by removing the DOCP profile. The motherboard runs the latest 1004 BIOS. I considered whether the B550M might have a problem, but wondered if there’s another cause—perhaps something with the CPU?
It seems the RAM sticks fit without a voltage ramp in slot A1, yet require more voltage for another slot. This could be due to differences in chipset support or power delivery requirements between the slots.
