Hi, I am sure that this is a stupid question, but I have never pre-ordered or bought a game online except recently Battlefield 4 on Origin. So I am new with all of this. Can you tell me where is the better place to buy "The Division" - Steam or Uplay and is there a difference? There is an upcoming Beta for PC on February, 19th.

Interesting question. Uplay is indeed the official store for Ubisoft, and many of their titles offer special perks there. Steam also provides a refund policy for certain purchases. Origin has its own system as well.

Uplay provides essentially the same options as Steam, but in a more stable and dependable way. It acts like a middle step when you play a Ubisoft title via Steam, handling the login before the game starts. You're left with two paths: using Uplay directly or sticking with Steam and Uplay together. I think purchasing from Steam usually gives you protection under their return policy.

If you obtain it on Steam, you'll also have access on Uplay. After launching the game, it will be linked to your Uplay account, which you must sign in with if it's a standard Uplay title. This means you can enjoy the game on both platforms.
