For some time now, I've been enjoying gaming on a basic monitor with limited capabilities—just 60fps and 1960 x 1080p. I'm considering an upgrade to 4K gaming, but my main worry is whether my PC can handle the increased demand. My current setup includes a Ryzen 7 3700X, RTX 2070, Asus B450M-A motherboard, 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, a 1TB WD-Blue M.2 SSD, and about 200 Fps on Valorant at medium settings. I'm unsure which parts need the most attention. Could someone help me figure out what upgrades would be best for this configuration?

I’m being honest, entering 4K gaming can be quite costly and not very smart. Stick to 1440p or lower, or you’ll end up spending a lot more. A top-notch 1440p screen offers better performance than a 4K setup because you’d need a more expensive GPU and monitor. As long as you upgrade your display to something decent, you’re good to go. Just moving up to a 5800x3D display and a better GPU will keep you in shape for the next few years.

Many users are unaware that numerous titles aren't designed for 4K resolution, so you'll notice all the flaws and low-quality details when viewed at full resolution. It's really disappointing... (though a few rare exceptions exist)

Plus one for a 1440p display with high refresh rate. Significantly superior to a 4K screen at 60Hz.

it’s not a major bottleneck, looks fairly even. your setup is decent but midrange—you’ll face challenges with 4K and newer releases, mainly needing upgrades like a better CPU and GPU. Your hardware should handle older games smoothly at 4K, though the GPU will be the key factor.
